Membership of the club is by invitation and requires the unanimous agreement of the club members. The club currently has 26 members with 4 of the original members from 1976. With Ilminster at the centre, the district covers an area of approximately 35 square miles in rural South Somerset. It extends as far as South Petherton, Kingsbury Episcopi, Fivehead, Buckland St. Mary and round to Chard. Club Members live and work across the district and come from all walks of life. All members serve on one of three committees. Community Service, Fund Raising or Sports and Social. These committees meet about three or four times a year. Membership Costs. dues are paid in January and July. Over and above that, there are the costs of food on meeting nights and any drinks. Membership and meal costs work out at about £16 per month. Social Gatherings. An essential feature of being a club member is our monthly social get together with wives and partners. These range from walks, visits to the theatre, skittling and very light hearted things, like a poems and puds evening. These events are costed out at the time, and whilst attendance is not compulsory, they can be very enjoyable and are a good way to build fellowship within the club. If you want to see photographs of some of the members go to the Photo Gallery and follow the links.
