Through out the year there are many fund raising events. Organised by the Fund Raising Committee, these are manned by club members. Events can be one-offs or regular tried and tested events. Easter sees the Easter Egg raffle when up to 25 eggs are raffled in pubs and shops around the district.

In June we have our annual Summer Fete.

On 23rd July we have a new venture in the shape of an Antiques valuation Day

The first Sunday in November brings the Annual Charity !0k Road Race , which attracts over  200 runners. This event has been taking place over 10 years. and details of this years Charity 10 k race will be available soon.

At the turning on of Ilminster’s Christmas lights, in November the  sale of mulled wine is always well received.

The Christmas Annual Bazaar is held in South Petherton in early December with  a Teddy Bear Lucky dip, held just before Christmas in Ilminster

It has to be said that all the local communities generously support the Lions.

For information about of our events that we have had see below and for forthcoming events  follow the links:-

Thee support we received far exceeded all our expectations and set a record for this event with over £2000 raised. Our grateful thanks to everyone who had a go.

50's and 60's night

Yet another fantastic night with about 200 people dancing to the great music of the 50's and 60's era played by Old Dogz New Trix. We raffled our last 2 Easter eggs which combined with ticket sales raised £945 which we will be donating to the Mike Bonner Memorial Fund. Go to the Photo Gallery for some photos

Rumour has it that we might have another 50's and 60's night later in the year.

May Bank Holiday Plant Sales At The Royal Oak Over Stratton

Despite poorish weather this was an outstanding success with over £500 raised on the Saturday and Sunday mornings.

SUMMER FETE 21st JUNE 2008

The Summer Fete did not enjoy the best of weather and as a consequence numbers were down. For those who did brave the elements there were lots of attractions many of whom performed in drizzling rain. Final sums are not available but early sums suggest that. Lions made a four figure profit.

Some photographs can be seen by going to the photogallery.
