Through out the year there are many fund
raising events. Organised by the
Fund Raising
Committee, these are manned by
club members. Events can be one-offs or regular tried and tested
events. Fund raising
events are a great way to promote Lions. We are always
humbled and delighted with the level of support we get from
the local community. |

After our Summer Fete our
Teddy Bear stall is our "longest standing" fund raiser, used
2 or 3 times a year.
Basically we sell tickets, now £0.25 each or 5 for £1. If your number
finishes with a 50 or 100 then the prize is a teddy bear. We
believe this has raised over £30,000 in the time it has been
running. |

The first Sunday in November
brings the Annual Charity 10k Road Race, which attracts over 300
runners. This event has been taking place over 10 years. At the turning on of Ilminster Christmas
lights, in November Lions mulled wine is always well received. The Christmas Annual Bazaar is held in South
Petherton in early December with a Teddy Bear Lucky dip, held just
before Christmas in Ilminster. |

Our philosophy is fairly simple, if we
want to support others we need to get up and get on with raising money
