We enjoy tremendous support from the local communities in and around the town of  Ilminster. Over the past few years we have helped many individuals and organisations. We are now donating over £16,000 per annum.

Several of our members serve on our Community Services Committee and they consider every request for help from large and small that we receive and the committee makes appropriate recommendations to the club. If we do not have enough in the pot to help a particular cause then we go out and raise it..

A cheque for £2,500 to Help for Heroes

In 2010 members of the club manned the gates at the Taunton Flower show and took along our Soft Toy draw. We wanted to raise money for a specialist bed for the Children' Ward at Musgrove Hospital. In 2 days we raised over £1000, enough to purchase the bed and we were delighted to make that donation.

Another organisation that we regularly want to help help is the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. we had to save up for several months  to do this and early this year we were able to make a significant donation.

How do we get to know about people or organisations who want help?  Sometimes they write to us, some we find out about from papers etc. and sometimes we know someone who knows someone who needs support.
